Lundi’s longtime friend and mentor Rebecca Malope broke down while paying tribute to him through a song she wrote for him “I Kiss You Goodbye, Go Well My Son”.
Friends and family gathered at Grace Bible Church in Soweto to pay tribute to Lundi.
He died on a Friday after being in and out of hospital for nearly two months.
He was diagonised with stomach TB and liver complications.
Lundi’s long time friend and mentor Rebecca Malope broke down while paying tribute to him through song.
As she sampled one of her solemn songs, Malope tried to fight back tears but before she knew it, she was overcome by emotions and she broke down.
In South Africa and much of Africa, Lundi will always be remembered as a gospel legend.
His music united people, healed hearts and soothed a lot of souls, mostly because of the emotion he put into his songs.
From Mphefumlo Wami to Mina Ngithemb’ uJesu, his music touched a lot of hearts.
